Medical Students’ Abstracts

All medical students’ abstracts will be displayed on the virtual poster wall, at the Congress Venue. The abstracts will also be published in the Annals of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Proceedings of NHG ASC 2008).

Abstracts shortlisted for Oral Presentation

1. The author (the medical student) of the shortlisted abstract will be required to deliver an oral presentation for judging at the Congress on Friday 7 November, 0830-1000.
2. Authors will be notified at a later date on the exact venue and schedule of presentation.
3. Each presentation will be for 10 mins followed by 5 mins of Q&A.
4. Authors are required to submit his/her presentation slides by 15 October 2008 to nhgasc@nhg.com.sg.
5. File size should not exceed 1MB and is to be saved in powerpoint slide (ppt) format, version 97-2003.
6. The deadline for submission of your presentation is 15 October 2008.

Abstracts shortlisted for full A0-sized Poster 

1. All shortlisted abstracts for poster will be displayed at the Annual Scientific Congress on 7 – 8 November 2008.
2. Please prepare your poster in A0 [841mm (width) x 1189mm (height)], Portrait orientation. Click here to download the template.
3. Each poster will be mounted on an A0 poster board [950 mm (width) x 2000 mm (height)] poster board to display his / her poster.
4. Landscape-oriented posters will NOT be accepted.
5. The title, names of authors, institutions of authors of your Poster must be the same as the submitted abstract.
6. The ASC Secretariat will mount the posters on your behalf. Authors will not be allowed to remove the poster at anytime during the 2-day congress.
7. Authors will be notified at a later date on the schedules for removal of hardcopy poster. Posters that are not claimed after the scheduled time for poster removal, will be removed by the ASC Secretariat.
8. All hardcopy posters must be submitted to the NHG ASC Secretariat by 15 October 2008 to the address below. It is preferable that you place your posters in a poster container. Please label the container with the title of your abstract and the name of the author(s) and send it to:

9. Please note that the Organisers will not be liable for any damage or loss to the posters.
10. The deadline to submit your hardcopy A0 poster is 15 October 2008.

 Announcement of Results

1. Results will be announced within one (1) month from the end of the Congress. The winners (gold, silver, bronze) will be notified via email.

Please note that failure to submit the above by the prescribed deadline will result in disqualification from the competition or the poster will not be displayed at the Congress.
